Connecting PowerBI to a Web Service

Web services allow you to connect Power BI to online data sources via APIs or URLs. These could be public datasets (like government data), private APIs. The business central we discussed earlier is an example of web services. another example is connecting data on a drive to Power BI. Just like we’ve done others, select web under the Get data option.

In the dialog box, paste the full web address (URL) of the data source and click OK.

Click Ok to take you to the next image where you’ll be able to pick an access level. You’ll pick anonymous because your link is publicly available. This has been highlighted in the image below.

Just like before, you’ll see a list of available data. Select the table you need and click Load.
